Isaac Turns 1

Isaac turned 1 year old on Saturday! I can't believe how fast time flies. We just had a simple little party with cake and ice cream and of course presents! He loved all his presents, although he wasn't thirlled about the cake. He loved making a mess with it, but eating was only half hearted. Here are some pictures for everyone to enjoy.

This is his awesome suite Grandma and Grandpa Garner sent him. (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!) He was such a little stud on Sunday! And his new car seat. He really likes being in it, if you can't tell!

Camping!

We decided to get away for Pioneer Day, and so we headed to the Wasatch National Forest to go for some nice family camping. Too bad we spent 45 min driving around on country roads somewhere in Wyoming trying to find the campsite. We literally turned around 5 different times, and found it by sheer miracle. Luckily Isaac was asleep the whole time, although I have no idea how he slept through the turbulance. But in the end we found it, and we even had enough gas to get back to a gas station when we went home. That was the real miracle! The camp was pretty, it was on a lake in the middle of the mountains, and there were some nice hikes. We're glad we went, but we'll not be going back to that campsite anytime in the near future!

This was our lovely campsite, and of course, Isaac had a nice blowout in the morning, so he got a changing in the morning sunshine on our table!

Our first hike we went on. It was nice and steep, and in the end, we didn't see too much, but what we could see was pretty.

Isaac really enjoyed the hiking. But alas, he didn't quite last the whole time...

This was the disaster that Isaac created when we laid him down for a nap. We thought the tissues were hidden enough, but not so much. He found them and unloaded the whole box in the tent. Needless to say he was happy as a clam while doing so. Of course when I caught him, he was all to happy to exit the scene of the crime!

We bought a little 2 person raft so we could enjoy some time on the lake. Isaac wasn't too sure about his life jacket, but he did like moving the oar around in the water.

Isaac the Climber

Isaac is my little dare devil, and he will climb on anything and everything. These are his latest adventures in climbing.

Isaac's Teeth!

This is the best picture we have so far of Isaac's teeth. Although you can't really see them, he also has 2 teeth on the bottom, and the two side ones on the top are starting to show. Isn't he the cutest?!

The Park

This last Sat it wasn't super hot in the morning, so we took advantage of it and we made our way to the park. Isaac had a blast. His favorite part was definitely the swings. In fact he cried when we had to take him off to go home. But we all had a blast.

Isaac Hard at Work

Isaac has a fascination with the computer, especially the keyboard. So one day I let him sit on my lap and play with the keyboard when the computer was off. This is what I got...

Happy Birthday Uncle Cameron

Cameron's birthday was July 9th. He got Quiche per his request for dinner, and then a tres leches cake for dessert.

But the real present came 2 days later when we took him out to lunch! We took him the Brazilian restaurant Tucanos. He served his mission in Brazil and it was pretty authentic according to him. This is the view of the actual restaurant. It's a really nice restaurant, and it's a ton of fun. We all rolled out of there when we were done!

Our summer purchases

So far this summer, we have invested in a few new items for Isaac. The newest purchase being his crib. We bought it from someone, and it came with the mattress and some bedding.
As you can tell, Isaac really likes his crib. When we first put him in it, he was running (crawling) back and forth laughing like crazy. His latest thing is to lay and kick the sides of the crib with his feet. This is how he fell asleep today for his nap!
And this is the Care Bear bedding that came with it! I think it is super cute, and Isaac likes to play with the little bear that's attached.
This is the jogger that we found at DI for $6. It is definitely not in fashion any more, but it works really well, and Isaac loves to go for walks/runs in it. He'll point to the door, and when I take him outside, he points to it and grunts. He knows what he wants!
And of course, we had to get a bike trailer. We also brought this used from someone else. But it works great as well, and Isaac loves to go for rides. He'll just sit there staring out the sides as we bike around. And it folds up all compact and fits nicely in our little shed!

Isaac the Tornado

Isaac has apparently decided that everything in this house is in the wrong place, and he needs to rearrange. The only problem is, he doesn't finish the job!
He's out little cool dude!
This is what the living room looks like on any typical day. I've decided it's not worth it to clean up the mess until he goes to bed. Otherwise it will just take 2 min before it looks like that again.
The kitchen is usually off limits to Isaac unless I'm in there too, and he loves being in there. He has discovered the pots and pans and loves to get them out. Thankfully he will stay out of the chemical cabinet. He knows that one is off limits. Besides I think he thinks the pans are more fun anyway!
