Random Cute Pictures

If you don't already know, it is extremely cold in Utah. (Okay, not as cold as some places, but cold enough) We had to go up to campus one day, but we had left the stoller in the car with Brandon, and our jogging stroller is in need of a new intertube for one of the tires. So I opted to take Isaac in the hiking backpack. It actually worked very well, and I think he staid warm enough. He had on his regular clothes, a full body fleece suit with a hood, his coat, and a hat over the fleece hood. And gloves. He loved the walk, and he loved finding dad at the end of the walk. Oh, and we had an umbrella because it was snowing. I definitely got a few looks while I was walking up, but who cares. We made it safely sans slipping and I got what I needed to done on campus and Isaac had a ball. This is him in the middle of saying cheese by the way. This was over Christmas break at the Garners. They have a little pack and play crib that he slept in. He did surpisingly well in there, and this was how we found him Christmas morning, straight as a board.

Isaac found Dad's pants on the floor one day and he decided he wanted to put them on. He tired on his own for a while, but eventually came out to get me to help. He thought it was the coolest thing to wear them.

He also found my scarf and wanted to wear it. Again, he thought it was the coolest thing to wear it. He was hilarious to watch.
One Sunday Isaac was having a hard time taking a nap, so Brandon took him back into our room and layed down with him. Amazingly enough he slept really well with Dad. I had to wake them up when our home teachers came. But they were so stinking cute!

We went bowling with Brandon's family while we were there, and Isaac had a really good time. He was really good about being passed around while everyone took their turns. Of course he would have loved to throw a ball down the lane, but all in good time.

Phillip and Clair daydreaming about owning a Mac. They caressed Brandon's Mac fairly thoroughly.

Isaac and Jackson got along fairly well, and here is proof. They are enjoying Mac and Cheese at Grandma Brown's house.

And of course Brandon helped my dad with his computer while we were there.

Aunt Gayleen and Isaac having fun together.

This was what we dealt with the first few days we were there. Salem never gets this much snow/ice. It was pretty crazy. I was just glad I have a willing and strong husband who was willing to go out and chisel out the cars. It didn't look very fun!

Brandon's parents still have this old rocking chair from when he was little and they got it out while we were there. Isaac enjoyed playing on it. Although most of time he preferred climbing on it over actually sitting on it.

And games with the Garners. We were all enjoying some very yummy muddy buddies.

The boys went into the attic to get some toys out for Isaac, and they found Cameron's old space station thing. Too bad the boys had more fun with it than Isaac. They seriously sat there for a good 10-15 min playing with it. Isaac just kind of played on the outskirts of it!

Chirstmas Day

We are still alive, and we had a wonderful Christmas. We made it to Oregon barely! The roads all closed down behind us. Literally in Utah right as we got to the upper parts of Utah we heard that they had closed down the road. We were very lucky to make it through, and in one piece. It was not a fun drive, but Isaac did well, he slept for most of it, and we got to spend Christmas with family which is what matters. We stayed with Brandon's family and it was so nice to be spoiled. For Christmas we spent the morning with Brandon's family and the afternoon with my family.
This was the chaos of my family. Not everyone was there, we were missing Art and Sierra and their boys, but it was still full of noise and fun.
Wayne and Shauna opening their presents. It was the little joke that we knew what we were getting by what they opened. My mom is very big on being fair, so we all got the same things. (All the families.) Which is a good thing because we all liked what we got!
This was at Brandon's family's house. Isaac had a blast walking around with all of our presents. He would even come over to open some of his once in a while.

This is his stocking. He had just woken up, so he wasn't too sure about anything yet. But he did like his toys from his stocking. Especially his Hot Wheels. Everyone always gets Hot Wheels in their stocking, so Isaac would go around and just pick up anyone's cars. Hopefully everyone got their cars in the end. Isaac was pretty sneaky with finding them.

Us on Christmas morning. We had so much fun with our families, we wish would could spend more time with them. But unfortunately work and school call us home. Thanks everyone for a great Christmas!

It won't stop snowing!!!

When we left Salem after Christmas, we were happy to be done with the snow, but alas, we returned home to Provo, UT and there was a bunch of snow and 2" of ice under that. The snow resumed falling yesterday morning and hasn't really stopped for more than a couple of hours. We have almost a foot of snow now on the ground and it isn't stopping yet! Michelle and I lost power in class for a moment, but power was quickly restored. I took Isaac over to a neighbor's house while I went to class and got the car stuck in the snow. After rassling around with the chains, I was able to get the car out of the snow and back on the "plowed" road.

No worries though, we are doing fine and staying warm in our little abode. Here's a few pictures of what we see outside...

Happy holidays everyone!
