Happy Father's Day

Okay, I know this is late, but Happy Father's Day to all dads out there, especially my dad. father-in-law, and my husband. 

This year for Father's Day my husband got a much desired weed eater.  He has been wanting one pretty much since we got married.  So, we did some looking around and got a nice one.  And I have to say, it is nice to have a nicely trimmed yard. 

Isaac was pretty excited about it too...

So was Brandon as evidenced by the picture...  (Okay, he was really just being goofy.)

Isaac would like to think that he's big enough to use it, he sure tried at first.

And this is what we spent all day Sat doing.  Now it doesn't look half bad if I do say so myself!

Sunday was a pretty relaxed day, and it was nice to just spend time together as a family. 

We are alive and well

No worries folks, we are still alive and doing well. Life is going great and our kids are growing like weeds! (Except we like them and not weeds!)

Hiking the Y

The other weekend, we decided that we would go hike the Y.  It just about killed us!!  We are a little out of shape, me especially.  But Isaac had a blast and he was actually the one that suggested it in the first place.  He even hiked up a good portion of it. 

This was at the begining, he was all excited to run up to the top.  Too bad it was a long, long way!

This was at the top.  He was very excited to be up at the top of the Y, and to see the rest of the mountian.

Emily had a blast too, she mostly just slept in the snuggli in front of me on the way up.  On the way down we turned her out and she loved just seeing everything and bouncing along.

Sleeping

Isaac has stopped taking naps (sigh) and when he first did, he was sooo tired at night time, especially during dinner.  One night he fell asleep at the table, so we took him and laid him on the couch.  He slept for a good half hour- 45 min.

And of course, Emily still sleeps anywhere if she's tired, and she does take naps. 

Indoor Fun

Isaac has a blast when we get out the tents and tubes.  He has his own personal fortress.

Good Friends

One of my best friends who I've known pretty much my whole life recently moved up to Seattle.  She was down visiting her family a while ago and she was able to stop by and visit us for a little while.  She has two kids about the same age as mine, and we are determined they are going to grow up and be friends, just like we were.  Our daughters are going to be roomates in college just like us, and maybe we'll have some marriages!  Just kidding, we really wouldn't force our kids to do anything, but it sure would be fun to be in-laws!

This is her family minus her husband who had to stay and work.  (Darn the concept of work!)

Her son Andrew, he wasn't too intrested in playing what Isaac wanted to play (balls, catch etc), but he sure loved the cars.  He is such a cute little boy.

Her daughter Emma, who is just 6 weeks younger than Emily.  She has the most beautiful long eyelashes, just like her mom. 

It was so fun to see her and her kids.  We're glad she made the trip to Provo to see us.  It's not always easy with two little kids.

Family Pictures

We finally got around to talking some family pictures.  We just did them by ourselves, so they're not amazing, but they work.  Isaac was having a ball, but I'm not too sure Emily was all that impressed.  We did get her to smile when it was just her.
