Jared Nathan Garner was born on Wednesday April 4, 2012 at 3:47 pm. He was 7lbs 2oz and 20 in long. It was a very quick delivery, and he is a very mellow little guy. I went in for a Dr appt on Tue and my Dr offered to induce me the next day. We decided to do it since my mom was here and was going to be heading to AZ on that Friday. We figured it would be nice to have her here to watch the other kids. So we went in on Wed afternoon, they started the pit at about 2:30, and he was born at 3:47. It was very fast, and relatively easy. I was worried that being induced wouldn't go well, but it was actually a lot easier than my first two. I didn't get an epidural and I actually prefer not to have one. (Keep in mind the short labor). When I started to feel some pressure I thought I needed to go to the bathroom, so my nurse took me in there, a little worried, as was I. I felt down there and there was the baby's head starting to crown. So we ran back to the bed, my water broke, Brandon ran out in the hall to tell them to call my Dr, got on the bed, and delivered Jared. I think I gave my poor nurse a heart attack. Needless to say the Dr did not get there in time. My nurse got to deliver him which she did like, and pretty much everyone ran into the room to help out. Everything was fine and my Dr again got there in time to stitch me up. Same thing happened with Emily (though with her the in house Dr was there).
But, he is a very sweet little boy. He barely cried when he was born, and very rarely since then. He did have some bruising on his face from coming out so fast, but the only thing that really lasted were his black eyes. Those are almost gone now. And yes, if you look closely at his hands and feet, you will notice they are a little different. He has 6 fingers and 6 toes on each hand and foot. The fingers aren't really connected to anything and are not functional, but his toes definitely are. When he is closer to a year we will have his fingers removed, and maybe his toes, depending on how his foot develops. We'll see. As for now, he's our little anomaly. And we love him just the way he is.
The kids absolutely adore him. Isaac always wants to see him and watch over him. Emily is always giving him kisses and trying to give him hugs.
We are so glad Jared is in our family.

He and Emma will be good friends--both got beat up during delivery! Emma's black eyes were the last to go, too. It was probably a month before they were all gone. I bet your dad is excited about the name ;). What a precious little one, and I hope you are getting some good sleep. Welcome adorable Jared!!
Congratulations Garner Family! What a handsome little man. Michelle you look amazing as always. Good luck adjusting to life with three little ones.
